Dr. Hook hails from a teeny tiny town outside of Rockford, IL. She graduated from the University of Illinois as an undergrad, and also earned her doctorate there from their College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She learned about Fear Free techniques at a continuing education conference in 2015 so was super stoked at the chance to open her own AAHA accredited, Fear Free Certified practice, founding Furever Family in 2017. Prior to the opening, she spent the majority of her years in emergency medicine, but also practiced as a relief Dr. at many local Quad City daytime clinics and shelters. Her interests are behavior, dermatology, geriatric care, and surgery. She enjoys strengthening the human animal bond and is an advocate for animals being physically and mentally healthy. In her spare time she loves playing all sports (except golf and bowling, as she is horribly bad at both), watching her kids at their many athletic events, walking with her dogs, and all things murder-mystery-y.
