Whether you have a feline friend or canine companion, we know you want them to have a happy, healthy life. We want nothing less here at Furever Family Veterinary Care Center, which is why we recommend routine wellness exams at least once a year. During these visits, we’ll check your pet’s heart rate, temperature, lungs, skin, coat, eyes, abdomen, mouth, and ears. We’ll also provide any necessary vaccinations to protect your pet from viruses and diseases, and provide our recommendations for parasite prevention if your pet isn’t already on one.
If we detect any abnormalities during the exam, we’ll discuss them with you and recommend treatment or diagnostic options, if necessary. Be sure to let us know if you’ve noticed any abnormalities in your four-legged friend at home. After all, nobody knows your fur baby better than you do. We’re also happy to answer any questions you have, especially if your pet is new to your family.
Common Health Problems in Dogs and Cats
Just like humans, pets exhibit some of the same symptoms when they’re ill. The following is a list of some of the most common health problems in dogs and cats, many of which can be detected during a physical exam, laboratory testing, or X-rays:
- Allergies
- Intestinal upset (characterized by diarrhea)
- Gum disease
- Diabetes
- Upper respiratory infection
- Skin infection
- Urinary tract infection
- Skin mass
- Lymphoma
While we can treat a wide range of conditions right here at Furever Family Veterinary Care Center, we can refer you to a board-certified specialist if additional care is needed.
